Almost 2 Weeks Old – Desiray

Filed under: Uncategorized — marcdouglas @ 4:02 pm

Here are some photos of my daughter Desiray.  She is somewhere between 9 days and 13 days old in them.  Desiray has already started changing from when we brought her home from the hospital!

I had to snap these the other day.  She was laying on the rug infront of her crib with these big eyes looking at me.

The greatest gift, Desiray is born!!!

Words can’t describe the last two days.  November 1st @ 10:14pm Desiray Elizabeth was born.  She weighed 8lb 10oz.  Mommy immediately turned into super Mom and only had 6 hours of labour (and only had to push for an hour).  Desiray is absolutely adorable and is very calm (and loves her sleep too).

I was practicing just incase I needed to step in. 🙂

These are a few photos from day 2.  I tell ya, I can’t stop taking photos. 🙂

I still have some emails to reply to and there are some people still waiting on photos.  Please hang in there, I will be get back to you all asap.  I am just heading out the door again to see Mommy and Desiray in the hospital.  We are hoping Mommy can come home today, she is still in a lot of pain.

Thank you everyone for all your support.  This little girl has daddy wrapped around her finger.

Emily & Janith – Engagement

Filed under: Uncategorized — marcdouglas @ 12:18 am

Below is my sunset engagement session with Emily and Janith.  I had already shot their wedding earlier this year, but they still wanted some engagement photos.  Its always nice shooting photos for people who love photography.  We shot these during Rib Fest in Burlington (man, those ribs are good!!).  Here are some of the highlights.

Cathy & Jason – Trash The Couch??

Okay folks!  I have been toying with this idea for awhile now and here it is.  I’ve been holding onto this couch for over a year (I must say my wife is happy to see it gone now, lol).  These photos were shot last month in August at this amazing location in St. George, Ontario.  Cathy and Jason are one of my bride and grooms from last summer and they were up for one of my crazy ideas.  Here are some of the shots from my very first Trash The Couch session.  Enjoy the photos.  A big thank-you goes out to Gill for allowing me to use his property!

You might not be able to see it in the smaller version of this photo, but that isn’t film grain.  It’s actually a couple thousand mosquito’s that were feasting on us.

Crossfire Night Shots

Filed under: Uncategorized — marcdouglas @ 12:10 am

A good friend of mine just purchased a Crossfire sports car.  It’s not too often that I get to shoot photos of cars.  I have done a few in the past and I really enjoy it.  At 2am one morning we went out and I grabbed a few of these shots.

Workshop, 2009, the baby!!! :)

Filed under: Uncategorized — marcdouglas @ 6:28 am

Just in between projects at the moment.  I am happy to say that I just attended a 3 day photography workshop with renowned photographer David A. Williams.  David has truly mastered the art of what is photography.  I can’t begin to tell you how inspiring and helpful these last 3 days have been.  They will be tools I will definitely be implementing into my own work.  Thanks David!

I just wanted to mention that as of July the 1st I will be setting my 2009 Wedding Pricing.  There are still dates for 2009, so if you are interested please contact me while the 2008 pricing is still available.  All my 2008 dates are now booked.

And on a really really happy note.  I am pleased to say that my wife and I are expecting a baby at the end of October of this year.  Mel is 5 months along now.  This is our first child, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a father!

There are lots of things to come very soon, I just haven’t had the chance to blog some of it.

Cenotes, Changos and Sol – OH MY!

Wow!  How cool was this?!?  While we were down in Mexico, Mel and I were lucky enough to hang out with Sol Tamargo (our wedding photographer….minus Matt – he was shooting weddings in Atlanta).  We went for lunch at one of her favourite restaurants in Playa del Carmen, La Cueva del Chango.  I am a big fan of french toast and Sol highly recommended it.  Even though it was lunch I still ordered it 🙂 …it was probably some of the best french toast I’ve ever had!

Here are some photos taken around Playa del Carmen.  Mel and I really loved this city.  It’s sooo big!

A couple days later we met with Sol for a Cenote adventure.  Cenotes are underground water caves.  These were absolutely amazing!  Sol and Matt have done some really cool Trash The Dress photography in them.

Our guide told us that these Cenotes were over a million years old and only discovered 4 years ago.  If you are claustrophobic – I wouldn’t recommend these!

On our walk to the Cenotes we came across the changos (monkeys in Spanish).  Of course we had to stop!  Sol captured some images for us on my camera.

This one had an itch and wanted Mel and I to scratch it 🙂

Okay – now onto the Cenotes!

This is the best shot from my underwater disposable camera.  Mel and I are snorkeling away 🙂

Mel, myself and Sol.

Thanks Sol for taking the time out of your busy schedule to hang out with Mel and me.  We had such a blast!
